'Cause you had a bad day (During the holidays? No way!)

I’ve had the crappiest morning ever! But you know what? It happens…

Everyone has a hard day, a difficult week or a crappy month. It’s normal to have a day every once in a while where everything seems to be going wrong. A drive where you hit every red light. A morning you spill your entire coffee on your clothes while also being late dropping off your kids to school. There are nights when you will only get a couple hours of sleep (if any). There have been months where bills are many + paychecks are few. This is life. It isn’t the “glamorous” social media #goals #Hustle #boss life… but it’s the real life we’ve been given.

Being a #boss isn’t measured by a salary you make, a car you drive, or a job you have… you truly #hustle when you face every challenge, bill, overwhelming moment + frustration with strength. This strength is made up of love, resilience, kindness + integrity. Yea, I know that doesn’t sound “cool”.

It’s not “trendy” to be kind when someone is crappy to you. It’s not “sexy” to tell the truth when it makes you look bad. You’re not “bad-ass” when you cry as your express your true vulnerability. It’s not “easy” to forgive someone who has broken your heart…. Right? Wrong. True Strength is not found in the gym, nor does it have anything to do with anything on the surface. It’s made in the hard moments, the tough times + the shitty circumstances life gives us.

If you don’t know what I am talking about, try forgiving someone who hurt you deeply. Try giving your time, money or talent when it doesn’t benefit you at all. Try standing up again, facing a crowd, day or moment that kicked you down. Try to be you/love who you are, when everyone tells you aren’t enough + need to change.

In a Holiday season where every song, moment + dollar is devoted to “family, friends + giving”… my true challenge to you (+ myself) is not to avoid the hard moments, but to embrace them. To pause before yelling, bitching or “bossing”… but instead, choose to let go, give peace + embrace the growth you can gain in that moment. To give until it hurts. To say I love you more. To forgive anyone that has hurt you. To be grateful for what you have first, before working on what you want to achieve.

If you’re having a crappy day, I’m sorry. I hope it gets better. If you’re tired but are continuing to face the day with a smile, I’m proud. If you’re dealing with something deep, but are brave enough to keep going, I’m inspired! I Can’t stop. Won’t stop. #hustling to be a great mom, #werking to be a good friend + trying to be a true #boss by giving to anyone from the depths of my heart. I’m trying my best! It’s not easy, but totally worth it! I believe in you! Love, Mel Marie xoxo #happyholidays #beinspired #tistheseason #blogger #igdaily #humpday
