Mirror much?????

What do you see?

Who is lookin’ back at you?

That question is for you to answer + you only. If you’re ready. But beware, the answer to this question is always deeper than it appears to be.

It’s taken me years to get to know the real girl who is in the mirror. I had built my previous identity based on codependency, people pleasing, coping through my pain/past with performing, running, working + loving others... none of those things are bad, but all of those things can mask who is truly inside.

As children, we learn to receive love after doing “good”, being “good”, helping out, performing well, ect. We are now a group of adults who walk around this planet trying to “earn” the love we so deeply crave. Hiding our mistakes, running from our problems, numbing the pain + pretending we are or have something we don’t all to be accepted, not rejected. It’s time to stop that for a couple seconds... + truly look at that man or woman in the mirror to ask: who are you really?

Why do you need to know? Who cares? Because your worth starts with who you ARE not what you do.

My baby girl does not receive love, care + admiration from me because of what she does. She is unconditionally loved, protected, provided for + treasured because of who she is. My daughter.

God sees us that way, we can’t earn His love + we can’t lose it. That is the way we need to love ourselves... as He does. Full of grace, encouragement, purpose + believing the best.

As we dress up for Halloween tomorrow, I pray you have a deep understanding of the person beneath the costume + passionate love for who that truly is.
